Dodge Dakota Vehicle Speed Sensor

Q. I have a 1998 Dodge Dakota 4x4, 318 and automatic transmission. My brake light came on and my speedometer quit working until you hit about 30 mph. Then the speedometer works but the light stays on. Could this be the speed sensor? If so can I change it and where is it located?

Thanks,
Mike

A. It could very well be the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). There is only one small bolt holding it on and should take less than 15 minutes to replace.
