Chrysler LHS Fan Stays On

Q. Dear Vincent, I have a 1997 Chrysler LHS with 40,000 miles on it. My climate-control A/C fan will not shut off. Neither will the system itself shut off. The modes change, and the cooling is excellent, but I get a constant high blower speed. Is there some sort of computer box behind it all, and do you think it needs changing?

I've been told by Chrysler that it will cost me nearly $500.00, including labor, to replace the module. Horrible! Is there anything I can get done elsewhere at a lower cost?

Thanks...

A. I'm afraid they are probably correct in their diagnosis. The unit can not be repaired and has to be replaced.

Since the labor to replace it is next to nothing and the cost is all parts, I would let the dealer do it and if by chance it does not fix the problem, he can take it out and not charge you for it.
