Spotted Windshield

Q. Hi! My car has lots of little white spots all over the windshield from over spray of car wash hot wax. I originally thought it was from the Amor-All they insist on using, but when it didn't come off, I knew it had to be hot wax.

I have tried the regular blue window cleaner, the "professional" window cleaner (which isn't bad actually), vinegar, teflon scrubbies, even Coke-Cola, and the spots remain. How the bleep do you get this stuff off? It's so bad, the car probably won't pass inspection (NJ is a b---- now-a-days), and I don't have the money for a new windshield.

I really need some ideas. I was figuring some sort of mild solvent like WD-40, but I don't know what will get rid of the hot wax, and not destroy the windshield in the process.

Thanks,
Lisa

A. I would suggest trying a tooth polish on it. The brand I used was called Topol Smokers Tooth Polish. It is a very mild abrasive compound that may take the spots off. I know it works well on small windshield scratches. It will take a little work but they should come out.
