Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera DTC 43
Q. I own a 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera with 70,400 miles. Nice? Not really. The car sat for over five years in a field. The original owners passed long ago. I'm getting a code 43 again on 5-13-04, the coil pack and ignition module assembly was replaced four weeks ago and the new plug wires have fried once on cylinders one and two and once one other time on cylinder one.
I am confused. The only electrical repair has been on the MAF relay the 30A, orange, hot wire was in the wrong slot on the plug. It was on the outside instead of one slot in on the plug. This fix cured code 34, low voltage. Any help with my current problem would be very much appreciated. I've replaced the MAF, MAP, O2 sensor, IAC motor, reset - ignition on 5 seconds, ignition off 5 seconds, start car and the TPI.
A couple of days ago gutted the catalytic converter, no return air on catalytic converter and O2 on manifold. Four weeks ago also loss of power, bad idle and mileage, poor shifting, 4speed automatic transmission. 150 psi compression per cylinder, fuel volume good, fuel pressure has slowly gone from 42 psi to roughly 32 to 36 psi.
A. Have you looked at the crankshaft position sensor? Are you using GM parts? They don't like aftermarket parts.
