Ford Taurus DTCs 332, 335 and 336 Q. Hi, My car is 1995 Ford Taurus GL 3.0 liter V-6, automatic transmission,105500 km. A few days ago, the Check Engine lamp ON when I was driving. But it would be off when I switch off the car and start it again, but it probably on again a while after driving. I went to a repair garage this morning. They told me the related check code after they checked the car used a measure equipment. The code is:

• "332 EGR VALVE NOT OPEN"
• "335 EGR SIGNAL OUT OF RANGE"
• "336 EXH PRESS HIGH OR EGR SIGNAL HIGH"

I am very worry about my car. So could you tell me how would I do ? Is it a serious or small problem?

A. These three codes in combination would make me think the EGR valve is bad, the EGR passages are clogged up or there is a large leak in the exhaust system.

So I would pull off the EGR valve and, with a hand vacuum pump, make sure it is working properly. Also check and clean the EGR passage.
