Jeep Comanche No Fuel Or Spark
Q. Vincent, I just bought an 1989 Jeep Comanche. It has a 242 inline 6 fuel injected engine. 126,000 miles and manual transmission. It drove great for 2 days and then it started acting like the fuel pump was going out. I changed the pump and the filter and now it won't start at all.
The filter and pump that I took off were not that old and it looks like someone had been tinkering with the car before I got it. After checking some more things out I find that the fuel pump is not getting any power and there is no spark getting to the distributor. I'm not sure what to look at next. Any suggestions?
Paul
A. The first thing I would check is the Power Latch relay. That supplies power to both the coil and fuel pump relay. I would think that is where the problem is.
