Eagle Talon Engine Vibration
Q. I own a 1996 Eagle Talon tsi AWD. The engine is a 2.0 liter DOHC with a 5-speed manual transmission. It has about 112,000 miles on it. The car is fuel injected with ABS, P/S, A/C, and cruise. I recently had the water pump replaced and now the engine is vibrating a slightly more than before at idle.
The big problem though is when the car reaches 4,000 - 4,500 RPM I can hear a huge resonance coming from the engine and I can feel the vibration coming from the floor. The vibration isnt that bad, but the loud resonating sound is what worries me.
Any help is appreciated.
JimA. If this started right after the water pump was replaced, then I would have whoever put it in take a look at it and make sure the pump was installed correctly and is not defective.
If they have to, they should remove it and check that the water pump shaft is not broken.
