Buick Lasabre Falls Flat When Cold
Q. Have a 1989 Buick Lasabre, 3.8 liter V-6 VIN C with 150,000 miles. When first cranked I have very flat acceleration for about the first ¼ mile and then it's fine. I replaced the TPS also. I have not had any codes. Any ideas where to go from here?? Plugs, wires, fuel and air filters are all new, including the fuel pump. Could it be the EGR valve? Only have the problem when first cranked regardless of outside temperature.
Thanks,
FinleyA. There may be a bad sensor that is not open or shorted but just giving the wrong information. We call this skewed. If a coolant sensor is skewed it could tell the ECM that the engine is colder or hotter than it really is and cause your problem. You need a scanner to look at all the possible sensors for being out of calibration.
