Accessing OBD-II DTCs Q. I currently own a 1999 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition with 53,000 miles. We had a brief cold spell the past couple days and the check engine light came on. I am curious if there is a way to enter computer diagnostics through the electronic climate control or by other means without purchasing other equipment. Thank you, Robert

A. Sorry Bob, that uses the OBD-II diagnostic system and there is no way to access DTCs without a special scan tool.
