Chrysler Concorde Coolant Leak

Q. Hi, Just purchased a 1994 Chrysler Concorde. I think something is going on with the heater core. After it runs for a few minutes, there seems to be antifreeze(?) dripping from underneath.

Chrysler Concorde Coolant Leak

I have only driven it for a maximum of 15 minutes but have noticed the fan did not come on and the heat gauge began to rise. I do not know where to begin. Is this all coming from one problem or could it be a couple?? Please help. Any advice you can give me will be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Ian

A. Is the fluid that's leaking greenish in color? If it is, then it is anti-freeze. Is it dripping from underneath the car, or underneath the dashboard?

If it is coming from underneath the dashboard, then you are probably looking at a leaking heater core. If it is coming from underneath the car, then you will need to put a cooling system pressure tester on and pressurize the cooling system to see where the leak is located.

If the engine temperature starts to rise too rapidly, then it's likely that there is not enough coolant in the engine due to the leak. I would get it looked at as soon as possible.

The heater fan not coming on is not related to the leaking cooling system. That problem can be addressed after the cooling system repairs are completed.
