Dodge Neon DTC P1390
Q. Hi, I have a 1997 Dodge Neon with an automatic transmission. Some time ago the Check Engine Light came on. I took it to Autozone to get it checked and they gave me the code and a brief explanation of what is wrong with it. I have no idea what this means.Would you be so kind to explain and tell me what I need to do to correct the problem? The code is P1390 - Octane adjust Pin out of self test range.
A. Hmmm... I wonder how they got a Ford DTC out of a Chrysler product? Tis indeed strange... DTC P1390 "Octane adjust Pin out of self test range" is a Ford DTC and your Dodge Neon does not have an Octane Adjust Pin.
On your vehicle P1390 refers to "Timing Belt Skipped One Tooth or More" To fix this I would recommend replacing the timing belt as soon as possible.
