Storing An Acura TL For The Winter

Q. In Canada, I store my 2001 Acura TL for three months, January, February and March, inside my garage with the tires resting on wood. While I wash and wax the car before storing, I don't do any of those other things, mothballs, removing battery, etc.

Storing An Acura TL For The Winter

So far so good. Given the relatively short period of storage, about 90 days, do I really need to do more?

A. I don't think you need to do much more than that. But I would go out and pop the hood and look around to see if any critters decided to call your car home. They especially like air filter housings.

If the weather is agreeable, take it for a 15 or 20 mile drive to keep the battery up and get the fluids moving. Don't forget to run the A/C for 20 minutes or so to keep the seals wet with oil. Other than that you're good.
