Looking For Basic Automotive Instruction
Q. Mr. Ciulla, I am basically car unknowledgeable. I can put in washer fluid and I can self serve fill up my gas. Beyond that, I'm clueless. Change a tire if need be? Change the oil? etc. etc. Is there, either in the New York City area or in North Jersey, some kind of quickie course for dummies on this? Or some other way to learn? Thanks...

A. I know the State University of New York offers course in several automotive fields from basic auto mechanics to advanced automotive technology. So you may want to check out what they have to offer.

Most local community collages offer a basic automotive course in their adult education programs, so check with some of them. New York Community Colleges. I would also check the Poard Of Cooperative Educational Services in Nassau county to see if they offer courses for adults.
