Volkswagen Passat Choppy Cruise Control
Q. I just recently installed a cold air intake on this vehicle. Now I am having a problem with the cruise control. It acts almost like it would if you would step on the gas and release it, over and over. Very choppy when engaged.I am also interested in ways to increase gas mileage.

York, PAA. I'll bet you didn't adjust the cruise control servo when you were done. Here's how to do it.
- Start the engine and run at idle (throttle housing in idling speed position)
- Turn rod 2 in onto stop and then turn back one turn (360°190°). Play a between rod 2 and vacuum servo linkage 1 must be between 0.5 mm and 1.0 mm (0.019" and 0.03").
- Secure servo linkage to keep from turning.
