Honda Accord Hard Starting, Misfires
Q. Vince, I have a 1991 Honda Accord EX Sedan 2.2 liter fuel injected, with 105,000 miles. Last summer the car started having difficulty starting in hot, humid weather, sometimes even if I didn't drive the car, it would have difficulty starting. An off and on problem. Now, the car starts, but is really misfiring at idle and even at mid range speeds, after the car warms up, it will not rest at an idle and stalls.
The check engine light will also appear.
I have changed the spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, and spark plug wires, with little or no improvement. What do I need to do next? Thinking fuel injectors.
If so, what's the secret for removing the electrical plug on the injector to test if the car reacts when they are removed?? Any advice would be very appreciated.
Thanks for your help
Jon
Stonington, CTA. Before I do anything, I would want to see what DTCs are stored in the computer. That will save us a lot of time and guess work and help me make a more accurate diagnosis.
Check Diagnostic Trouble Codes to find out how to extract the DTCs and what they mean.
