Dodge Neon DTC P0508 And P0608
Q. Hello, I have a 2001 Dodge Neon and just recently while driving it started fluttering and hesitating Then the check engine light came on so I serviced it the next day and it did the same thing. I checked the spark, gas, compression, changed wires and still the same problem.
So finally I got a diagnostic test done and I got the codes P0508 and P0608 and I got another test with a different mechanic done and it came out to be the same and they told me I need a computer. Is this the only way and will this fix the problem?
Thank you for your time...
A. DTC P0508 is; Idle Air Control Circuit Low. Which means the Idle Air Control Circuit input is below acceptable limits.
If the Technicians have tested the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve, the wiring between the IAC and the PCM and made sure the IAC passages in the throttle body are clean, then yes, the PCM probably needs to be replaced.
If the PCM is giving you a DTC P0608, and there is no mistake about that, then you probably have a bad PCM since there is no DTC P0608 any Chrysler vehicle in 2001.
