Nissan Frontier Fusible Link Is Fused
Q. Hello! I have a 2000 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab 4WD truck. I lost all power to the truck. This happened all of a sudden, no warning. After tracing various things, checking battery, which is new and checks out fine. I checked the fuse box right behind the battery mount. The fuses all looked good. I wiggled them all and Viola! Power is back and the truck starts.
I pulled and checked all the fuses except one! The 100A Fusible link. I cannot get it out and I managed to break the top off trying to remove it. The truck still runs and power is there but I need to get this thing replaced and it won't budge.
Alas the link is a bit mangled and exposed and things work, but this cannot be a safe condition at all! Any thoughts or recommendations as to what I can do to get this thing out? I have a replacement to put in it when I do get it out.
Thanks for any help!

Americus, GeorgiaA I would remove the fuse/fusible link box and turn it over and see what's under there. It's possible there is a broken wire that was arcing and 'welded' the contacts of the link to the fuse/fusible link box. Once you see what is under there, you should be able to figure out what needs to be done to repair the problem. You may need to replace the whole fuse/fusible link box to correct the problem.
I wish I had a better answer for you, but without seeing it for myself, it's difficult to advise you better. There is no 'simple' answer to this question. If you are not comfortable or lack the required skills to perform this type of repair, I would recommend taking it to a Nissan Dealer.
