Mercury 100 Truck ID Numbers

Q. I am looking for some info... I just picked up a 1968 Mercury 100. I also got a 1967 Ford F-100, basically the same truck. The Mercury has a straight 6 and I want to know what size of engine it is. On the left side, near the starter, I found some casting numbers in the housing. They are: C6AE-6C15-D.

Mercury 100 Truck ID Numbers

I was hoping you would be able to tell me where to go to find engine specifics, or maybe you know what size of engine it is. Also, I have a plate on the driver side door with a bunch of numbers. Maybe you know how to decipher those as well?

It's on the 1968 Mercury 100 driver door. It says:

F10HCC31257
131 M F100 5 81 C 09
05000 129 4000 A6

Please get back to me... I appreciate it. I have looked everywhere!

Matt

A. Well, maybe not everywhere. Try here: MercuryPickup.com. Specifically: 1968 Ford Serial (Warranty) Plate Breakdown

I think you'll find what you are looking for. If not, there's a bunch of guys who will be more than happy to help you.
