Dodge Intrepid Transmission Problems

Q. Hi Vincent, I have a 1996 Dodge Intrepid, 3.5 liter V-6, automatic transmission and 200,000 kilometers. Today when I was backing out of the driveway it went into reverse fine. When I went in drive all the lights on the dash, REVERSE, DRIVE, PARK, were all on. And when I drove my odometer wouldn't work and it wouldn't go into the next gear.

The Check Engine Light is on. Any help?

A. I would check the PCM for Diagnostic Trouble Codes. It sounds like you may have a Vehicle Speed Sensor problem, or a problem with the Transmission Range Sensor.
