Volkswagen Jetta Power Window Fuse
Q. Hello Vincent, I have a 1998 Volkswagen Jetta. Can you tell me where the Power Window fuse is for a 1998 Volkswagen Jetta 4 cylinder engine? All my windows and side mirrors failed all at once so I'm thinking it might be the fuse. The manual says that a power Window Fuse is above the relay but all I see are these big plastic boxes. Are they the fuses? Also, once I find it, how do I know its bad?

A. The S43 Power Window Circuit Breaker is in the relay box under the drivers side dash. The exact position depends on the trim level of the vehicle but it is encased in a metal housing.

Thanks so much for the response. Last night I was looking through some newsgroups and found this listing about checking fuse #14 (which is the back-up lights). So I went back to check and sure enough, the back-up lights fuse was burnt out. When I replaced the fuse everything worked again!
How odd is that? How does the backup lights fuse affect power windows!
If anyone else asks such questions (and I've seen a lot of them out there) tell them to check the back-up lights fuse.
Thanks again...
Billy Kim
