Cadillac DeVille ECT Sensor Location Q. Good Morning, I have a 1997 Cadillac DeVille with the Northstar engine. I have a cold start problem that I have not been able to resolve. When the motor is warm it stars with no problem, in the morning it is very hard to start. It has been suggested that the Coolant Temperature Sensor may be bad. Where is the CTS located???? Thanks for any help You can provide. John

A. The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor is located on the Left hand rear corner of the engine, below the exhaust gas recirculation valve
