A Road Angel In A Toyota Yaris

Q. Hi, I am looking for some advice, I have a Road Angel and I am wanting to hard wire it into my 2005 Toyota Yaris Color Collection with A/C. I have had a look at many sites and came across lots of information. However, I am still not sure where to start. At the moment I have it powered through my cigar socket.

I have taken off a piece off the dashboard and I am presented with "millions" of wires. The Road Angel powers up as soon as it is given power so the wires I use will have to be controlled by the ignition and only power when the engine is on. What colors of wires should I use for my "+" and "-" connections? I cannot wait to hear back from you.

All the best,
Adam

A. I'm assuming you mean the Road Angel radar detector.

When I install accessories I use a nifty little gimmick that I found a while ago. It's called Access-A-Fuse. It's like a fuse within a fuse, a 20 amp and 7.5 amp which is plenty for most electronic accessories. You'll find the instructions by clicking on the link I just gave.

Standard wiring convention is red for "+" and black for "-".
