Ford Explorer Flashing Indicator Light

Q. I went though a flooded street, a couple of days later, my indicator light started to flash. I try to shift into 4WD or LOW range and there is no response. I hope you can help me solve my problem.

Ford Explorer Flashing Indicator Light

A. The flashing indicator light is telling you the PCM detected a problem and has stored a code. You will need a scan tool to extract the code and see what it is. Transfer case malfunctions are monitored by the PCM.

Before doing that, I would try removing the transfer case shift motor and reinstalling it. They have a nasty habit of getting stuck and a simple R&R fixes it.
