Three Volkswagen Jetta Questions Q. 1) Please help me find the thermostat on my 1989 Volkswagen Jetta. I'm looking to change the thermostat, because it runs cold. 2) Also, this car revs high at all times.

3) Transmission doesn't change to overdrive.

• 1.8 liter
• 125,000 miles
• Automatic transmission
• P/S, A/C, Cruise control

A. 1) The thermostat is located in the thermostat housing behind and below the coolant pump.

2) Let's see what happens when after you replace the thermostat.

3) That transmission is a 3 speed automatic and does not have overdrive.
