Ford Mustang P/S Control Valve

Q. Hi Vincent, I got myself in trouble; here is the situation:

I'm trying to replace the dust boot and its washers and pieces on the (power cylinder), I believe that's what its called. It's hooked-up to the steering. I'm trying, like I said, to replace the (accordion boot kit). I have a 1966 Ford Mustang with a 289 engine.

I took the darn thing off all right but I seem to have forgotten how to put it back together!!! The control valve rebuilding kit was bought from: Scott Drake.

In the kit:
  • One accordion rubber boot
  • Two large washers
  • Two large rubber grommets & one lock nut
  • One small ring clamp ~ never seen that one before.

Problem is Vincent, in what order do I put the pieces back on the piston rod coming off the piston rod?

Thank you Vincent!
God bless you and your family.
Ray

A. I believe this is the kit you are referring to...

And this is the power Steering Control valve you have.

If that is the case, then it's simple. the two large rubber grommets, B, go on either side of the mounting bracket. The large washers, A, go on top of the large rubber grommets and the clamp, C, goes around the accordion boot, arrow, to hold it on the shaft.
