Nissan 240SX DTC 11 And 34

Q. The motor is a year old. It overheated and I warped the head. I replaced it and put it all back together. I went to start it but it just keeps flooding out. So I looked at the ECU and I'm getting 1 long flash and 1 short flash then it stops and I get 3 long flashes stop again and then I get 4 short flashes.

Nissan 240SX DTC 11 And 34

A. Looks like you're getting a code 11, and code 34. DTC 11 is "Crankshaft Position Sensor" and DTC 34 is "Knock Sensor (Turbo Only)". Since there is no USA 240SX turbo, I have to assume you either have a non-USA model or made an error in obtaining the codes.

I would check the engine grounds and make sure they are all attached and tight. Then I would check for battery voltage at the 'B' terminal, black/white wire, of the distributor connector and check for ground at the 'A' terminal, black wire.

If it checks out, you have a bad distributor. If not, check the ECCS relay and fusible links.

As for the code 34, a bad knock sensor is not very likely to be causing the problem.
