Two Mazda 323 Problems
Q. Hi, Two problems:
- 1991 Mazda 323
- 1.3 liter
- Carburetor
- Manual transmission
- 375,000 kilometers (233,013 miles)
1. My problem is that I can not figure out the right connections for the vacuum hoses i.e which hose shall fit where? There are lots of them, some are black ( dotted with yellow and others with blue) other ones are thin and transparent. It would be great if you can assist me or provide me with a diagram or a schematic.
2. Another problem is that the exhaust of the car produces a noticeable intermittent sound ( like a coughing sound) every 3 seconds or so, even when the car is warm. I would also notice a smell like that of gas coming out of the exhaust.
Thanks,
MazinQ. I would love to help you out with this Mazin but the vehicle you have is not a US model and I do not have the diagrams you need. The US version has a 1.6 liter engine and never came in with the 1.3 liter engine. Also all the 1991 Mazda models were fuel injected, not carburetted.
As for your second problem, I suspect if you get the first straightened out, number 2 will also be fixed.
You might want to try a library. The reference section usually has the Service and Repair Manuals for all makes and models and if not, they should be able to obtain them for you.
