Looking For A Big Rig Air Horn
Q. Vince, Hi there. Jun again from the Philippines. I have another crazy idea. Before having my pick up truck, I owned a Nissan sedan. Since then, I've been dying to have one of those air horns that tractors, pay loaders, dump trucks and other heavy equipment have. The big problem is where I could get a permanent air supply.
I don't want to install anything on the part of the engine because it might affect the overall performance of my pick up.
I've been thinking, now that I have a pick up truck that has a propeller, do you think I can mount an "A/C compressor" somewhere near the propeller so that I can use the propeller's rotating movement to drive and turn the fan belt of the "A/C compressor"? Then I could buy me one of those smaller air tanks and of course, install a governor or some kind of check valve so that air will be released once the tank is full.
I could use some advice, or anything that you can suggest to make my project work.
Thanks again,
JunA. Your truck has a propeller?!?!? What are you driving, an airplane?!?!?
If you want an air horn, you can buy an air horn kit for about $50.00 that comes with everything you need. No muss, no fuss, fits right in. Air Horn Kit
