Oldsmobile Cutlass Speedometer Woes Q. If a speed sensor is bad what do it do? I have a 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais 2.3 liter Quad 4 engine with an automatic transmission. My speedometer keeps going crazy and my odometer will put mileage on like crazy. I changed the transmission speed sensor but that didn't help. Please help. Thanks...

A. Do you have the correct tires on the car? The dash cluster may have a problem. Also, it could be a mis-match of gears in the speed sensor and driven gear in the transmission.
