Acura Integra MAP Sensor Testing
Q. My name is Daniel and I have a 1989 Acura Integra LS and I am having problems with my MAP sensor the engine is a D16A1 4 cylinder with polished but non-ported head. I've gone through two MAP sensors cause the ECU keeps showing a MAP sensor code but to no avail after buying two new MAP sensors I still keep getting this code.
My question is that after having such work done, polished head intake and exhaust ports, do I need a different of MAP sensor? Please help me.
- 1989 Acura Integra LS
- D16A1 4 cylinder
- Automatic transmission
- 189,000 miles
- P/S, A/C
Thank you in advance,
DanielA. This is a mistake made by many. When you get a code, it does not necessarily mean you have a bad component. There may be a problem anywhere in the circuit that will cause the same code.
After two new MAP sensors, I think it's time to check the whole circuit. You could have a bad PCM or broken wires. Here is how to test the MAP sensor circuit.
