Ford Windstar P0722, P0741 & U1262

Q. My transmission overdrive light is flashing which indicates a malfunction. I am getting the following trouble codes. P0741 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or stuck off. U1262 Actual Axle Torque w/min & max available torque status (5 second aging). P0722 Output Speed Sensor Circuit no signal. Can you tell me what things I should look at first?

A. I think I would clear all the codes, drive the vehicle for a while and see if they come back.

DTC P0722 is "PCM has detected an erratic or no Output Speed Sensor (OSS} signal." This, on the face of it, would indicate a problem with the OSS or it's wiring.

DTC P0741 is "The PCM picked up excessive amount of Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) slippage during normal vehicle operation". This can be set by low transmission line pressure.

DTC U1262 is "SCP Communications Bus Fault". The proper testing for this code depends on which module this code was generated from.

If, after the codes are cleared and the vehicle driven, these codes come back, I would have to say the problem is with the Transmission control module, or in the TCM wiring harness. I would have the Ford Dealer confirm this for you.
