GMC G15 Sierra 1500 Rusting Bumpers

Q. I have a 2003 GMC G15 Sierra 1500 4WD , 17,000 miles and automatic transmission. I have a problem with the rear bumper rusting where it meets the black trim. Also the front bumper is rusting on the top where it goes back under the grille. This is bad enough that is actually flaking now. Is there anyone else reporting this?

Also for your reference. On April 3, 2003 shortly after I bought it, new, the right front was shaking. After checking it twice they informed me it of "differential carrier production problem due to mis-machining". They replaced front differential carrier assembly and related items to complete repairs. They note that they contacted T.A.C. for assistance on this problem. Love your articles.

Thank you for any help you can offer.
Sincerely,
Jim

A. I haven't seen any problems of rusting bumpers but would think that the dealer will do all they can to help you with it. Do you tow a boat? It appears that this would still be under warranty. Let us know how you make out.
