Mazda B2300 Intermittent High Idle

Q. I have a 1996 Mazda B2300 2.3 liter, manual transmission, 103,000 miles and A/C. When I turn on the fan, Air condition or heat, the engine jolts a little. It revs an extra 500 rpm's and does so every three seconds. The problem quits as soon as I turn off the fan. What could be causing this?

Thanks!
Phil

A. There was a TSB issued for this problem. If your calibration code matches any of the codes listed below, you will need a modified PCM to correct the problem. I would let the dealer make the final determination on this.

Refer to the driver's side B-Pillar for the certification label containing the calibration code.
