Pontiac 2.0 Liter Engine Coil Packs Q. I would like to know about coil packs on 1994 Pontiac 2.0 liter engines and if they are interchangeable? I went to a wrecking yard and pulled a coil pack off one. It looked the same until I got home and I found the plug was different. I was smart enough to get the plug from the wrecking yard. Can I just change this and it work?

Also I found that the firing order is different on the new one I got. If I make sure to install the wires correctly it should be okay, I think. Please help.

A. I checked the part numbers and they are different for the 1994 Pontiac 2.0 liter then the 1992 and 1993 Pontiac 2.0 liter.

Then I checked the wiring diagrams and they are virtually identical. If you use the connector from the donor engine make sure the wires get spliced to the like wires on your engine. The firing order for all the 2.0 liter engines are the same so just install the wires as you would normally do.

If, by some chance, it doesn't work, install them according to the new coil pack.
