Toyota Camry Turn Signals Flash Fast
Q. Hello Vincent, I drive a 1990 Toyota Camry. My question is about the brake lights/head lights. The blinkers flash extra quick only when I have the head lights on. When I turn the head lights off, the blinkers work fine. I checked all the blinkers, lights and fuses. Any suggestions/solutions would be very helpful.
Thanks,
Chip
Louisville, KYA. There are three things that come to mind. Before anything else, double check the fuses. I would use a test light or Volt-Ohm Meter. Don't rely on a visual inspection.
Check the ground connection at point D. That is the ground for the combination switch. Clean it up real good and make sure it is tight.
If that doesn't do it, then you may have a bad turn signal flasher. They are cheap and easy to replace so it's worth replacing, even just to eliminate it as a possibility.
The other thing that comes to mind is a bad combination switch. Unplug the combination switch and check for continuity between terminals 21, 22, 25, 28, 31 and 33. If there is continuity between any of them, the combination switch is bad.
