Dodge Dynasty Flaky Speedometer

Q. 1989 Dodge Dynasty, 3.0 liter fuel injection, automatic transmission, P/S, A/C, and cruise, 150,000 miles. For some reason the speedometer seems to want to work when it feels like it. The fuses are all in order and not blown. No loose wiring that I can find, I've heard of others who had this problem, but I can't get any information on what the problem might be or how to fix it. Any ideas?

Thank you,
Jet

A. I have seen quite a few electrical connectors on the Vehicle Distance Sensor go bad and cause erratic operation of the speedometer and cruise control. So this would be the first thing I would check.

It is also possible that the speedometer head or printed circuit board is causing the problem as well.
