Ford Mustang Shakes When Cold

Q. Hi, I am having a problem with my Ford Mustang. The problem with my engine is when I cut it on it starts and then it will begin to shake, and just as soon as I put it in gear and drive of it cuts off, then I start it back up and put it in gear again and I press on the gas quickly and as long as I have my foot on the gas it will be fine, but if I slow down and come to a stop it will shake really bad and cut off unless I press the gas.

After I drive it for about two or three minutes though, its fine and won't cut off when I stop or put on the brakes. I need some help because this is really a problem.

A. I would want to know the basic functions of the engine are good before looking for any problems. I would replace the spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, ignition wires, PCV valve and air and fuel filters. I would also look for vacuum leaks, especially the PCV hoses. Any or all of these things can cause the problem you describe.

Another good possibility is a bad Coolant Temperature sensor.
