Nissan Pulsar Idle Fluctuation
Q. Ran great until two weeks ago, while idling at around 900 rpms would drop off to 500 rpms and than back up. then while driving it started to cut out the same way and drop about 500 rpms and back up. Currently it does not want to even idle and when you give it gas it is up and down.
Replaced Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor and Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and fuel filter and is still the same. Mode 3 in diagnostic is a 44.

A. There is a 12 page procedure to troubleshoot the idle control system on that engine.
Go to your local Nissan Dealer and ask for a copy of TSB TS88-001. That will outline the proper procedure to troubleshoot and repair the idle controls.

Hi, just wanted to let you know we took the cars computer in and it was sent off, tested and it had a bad chip. They repaired it very reasonably and fixed the problem. We discovered the local MAPCO Import parts store was the place to go over the other regular chain stores for price and help. Thought I would let you know in case someone else experiences the same problem.
