Pontiac Grand Prix Supercharger

Q. I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3800 Series 2. Do I ever have to "change" the supercharger oil or do I just have to make sure that it is at the correct level? I've heard from mechanics that it runs off the engine oil and no changing is necessary. And I have heard from online car clubs that I have to "suck" it out and buy special oil to refill it.

What should I do? Does your answer apply to all supercharged engines?

A. I have heard that it is serviceable but don't know first hand. Have you called a dealer to see if it is one of their services? Does the owners manual state that it needs to be done at a specific mileage? This would be an expensive thing to have to replace out of warranty, so if it's serviceable I would highly recommend it.
