Chevrolet Corvette Radiator

Q. Hello, Could you please tell me what is the best product (in your opinion) to put in my radiator to clean it out? When I look into my radiator I can see that the tubes going down the side is covered with white crud. Some people told me to use CLR, but some people said not to use CLR. This is in my 1981 Chevrolet Corvette, I think the radiator is original.

Thank you for any help.
Take care,
Richard

A. If the radiator is original, then most likely that white crud is all that is holding it together. So if use you use something to clean it out, there is a good chance that the radiator will develop a few leaks. I have seen this happen before.

If it were me, I would take the radiator out and have it re-cored. The car is well worth the extra expense and you'll have one less thing to worry about.
