Chevy Beretta Lost All Power Q. I use to use AskMe, never had a problem. however with this web site I can get on the chat but I can't post a message In the auto repair forum. I tried re-registering I have given up. My 1988 Chevy Beretta came to a slow halt tonight. Lights dimmed, then nothing. Scary, especially for this Grand Mom.

I have a new starter and new battery, but wondering about alternator. Trying to hold out until I retire.

A. It could very well be a bad alternator. I would recommend having the charging system tested to confirm this. Most large auto parts stores, AutoZone, NAPA, etc, will test the charging system for free or you can have your own mechanic test it.
