Which Oil For A Nissan Maxima Q. I have read several experts opinion on oil. With 200,000 miles on my Nissan Maxima should I use 20W-50 or 10W-30? It doesn't use oil. I am sure it gets blowby. It seems the wear should require heavy, but I have been told the lesser still lubes better? Thanks for you web site. It is the best!

A. Personally I would go with the 10W-30. But a lot depends on the oil consumption. If it uses one quart of 10W-30 per 3,500 miles and the engine sounds good, stay with it. If it uses more than that or sounds rattlely, then try the heavier oil.
