Dodge Colt Starts And Stalls

Q. I have a 1991 Dodge Colt 1.5 liter 4 cylinder. The car will start but then immediately stalls. Do you have any suggestions on what to check. I checked the timing chain and carburetor and they look okay. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Dodge Colt Starts And Stalls

A. There's a hundred reasons why your car will do this. It could be an ignition or fuel problem. You have to determine which before we can do any troubleshooting. The most obvious would be a vacuum leak, a large one. So I would suggest checking all your vacuum lines to be sure they are in good shape and connected properly.

Then the next thing to do is to put a fuel pressure tester on it and see what the fuel pump is doing.
