Chevy K5 New Engine, No Start
Q. Question, I just put in a newly rebuilt 350 motor. Everything inside was put in new except the crank was turned. Once the motor went in I replaced the electronic module, electronic sensor at the top of the distributor, new spark control module, EGR valve, and temperature sending unit, new spark plug wires, distributor cap, coil, last but, not least a new computer used the old proms).
- 1989 Chevrolet Blazer K5 4x4
- 350 cid (Just professionally rebuilt less than 1,000 ago.)
- Automatic Transmission
- Truck has over 100,000, motor has less than 1,000
- Fuel injection
- P/S, P/B, A/C
Now for the problem. I am getting a code 42. The truck runs great for a while and then I can be riding down the road and the check engine light comes on. At that point the truck runs like it is missing on one cylinder. I can stop the truck, cut the switch off for approximately 10 seconds and crank it back up and the truck runs great again. I don't know what else to do.

A. If you did not put a GM module in it, I would start there. They just don't like aftermarket modules. Also see if there is a knock sensor on the starter side of block near the starter. If so, make sure it's tight
