Lincoln Town Car Fuel Filter Q. My 1988 Lincoln Town Car will not start. It almost starts via "turning over". I think It is a fuel filter problem. I do hear the pump turn on. My husband does not know how to change the fuel filter in this particular car. Please help! Christina

A. The fuel filter is located downstream of the electric fuel pump and is mounted on the underbody.

You will see two clips, one on each end, on the fuel line. Pull the clips out and the lines will separate from the filter ends. Push the lines on the new filter and insert the new clips that come with the new filter.
