Dodge W100 Wiper Arms
Q. Vincent, I have a 1984 Dodge W100 4x4 pick up. The operating rod for the windshield wipers has become disconnected from the wiper motor. It looks like I can correct the situation if I can remove the cowling between the base of the windshield and the back of the hood.
I have a Chilton manual but all it says is "Remove the wiper arms..." but is not specific as how to actually remove the arms. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
DanA. I don't know Dan, this has always been a closely guarded secret known only to Chrysler Technicians and a select few. If I tell you how to do it, I'd have to kill everyone reading this.
Seriously though, the way to remove the wiper arms is this: lift up the arm so there is no pressure on the pivot. Then grip the arm at the bottom where it attaches to the pivot with a pair of pliers and rock it back and forth while pulling up on it. It will simply pop off.
