Nissan Sentra Governor

Q. Hey, a couple of weeks back I asked you about my 1990 Nissan Sentra being stuck in low and you said to replace the bronze gear off the shaft of the transmission governor. The problem is that I don't know where the transmission governor is located. Could you explain to me where its exactly located a graphic possibly?

Thanks...

A. Here's a picture of the transmission. The governor (#9) sits right on top. You can't miss it. It has a round black cap about 5" in diameter (#4) held on with a large clip (#5) with an O-ring (#6) underneath it.

To remove the worm gear, drive out the roll pin with the appropriate size drift. Then slid the old worm gear off, slide the new one on and tap the roll pin back in. I would use a new roll pin. Pop it back in the transmission and that should get you going again.
