Pontiac Sunfire Longevity Q. Hello, I lease a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire, which I got new. Since getting it in July 2001, I have racked up 53,000+ kilometers. I service the car every 5,000 kilometers without fail at my dealership according to their service schedule. I love the car and plan to purchase it at the end of the lease.

How long can I expect my car to last? Should I use it less? I am worried that at the end of the lease, there won't be much of a car left to buy!

A. The Sunfire and Cavalier are fairly trouble free when maintained properly. If you are having doubts, call you dealer and see if you can still purchase an extended warranty for it. Most newer cars can still get an extended warranty from GM.
