Jeep Cherokee Cruise Control
Q. Hello, I just inherited a 1990 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4x4 4.0 liter 6 cylinder engine, automatic transmission and 97,000 miles. The truck is in excellent condition with the exception of:
1. The cruise control is inoperative, wipers work okay, just cruise control not working. I have a cruise control lever assembly off of a 1987 Camaro/Firebird they appear to be identical. My question is will they interchange?
I believe it may be in the control on the column or the wiring attached because the wiring looks to have been pulled on and basically abused.
2. When stopped at light upon acceleration the engine stumbles and then proceeds fine, O2 sensor replaced. Could it be TPS or should I look elsewhere.
Thanks,
StanA. 1. The cruise control assembles are the same so it should fit right in. Have fun getting that wiring harness down the steering column. What I would suggest is to tie a piece of fairy strong string to the old connector before you pull it out. Then when it's out, tie the string to the new connector and it will make it easier to get it in.
2. Since you just got this truck, I would suggest going over all the basics before we start looking for anything else. Back To Basics
