Jeep YJ Automatic Transmission Q. Hi, I've got an 1989 Jeep YJ (Canadian) with the 258 cid 6 cylinder and electronic feedback carburetor. The transmission is a Chrysler Baby 904 automatic transmission. My question is will any one of the Mopar V-8 engines bolt up to the 904? The other option is will one of the AMC V-8 s bolt up? A. I think the A-727, A-904-LA, A-904T, A-998, A-999 automatic transmissions will bolt up. But I suggest checking with the junk yard to be sure. They have the interchange books that tell what will fit what.
